Japan Otaku and The Geek
Otaku Culture stems from Japanese Popular Culture and competes with other sorts of subculture like Kawaii Culture and Visual Culture. It was limited in its similarities of those who had different hobbies, so coming together was not too easy, unless the events or meet ups overlapped with multiple interests. Much of what has developed with Otaku Culture comes from a mixture of Japan and its influence as well as its overseas fans of the "Cool Japan" movement. But, what is an Otaku? well the reason its mentioned in hobbies is because otaku meant someone different, obsessed, and deeply familiar with obscure interests that were unpopular. It was a term seen similar to geeky, nerdy, and unpopular, so they kinda made their own categories of interest categories that were based on their hobbies of what they spent their time on. In Japan & The Hobby Classes of Japan Otaku the typical types of Otaku or Ota for short are: [1] Anime Ota, [2] Manga Ota, [3] Seiyu Ota (Voice Actor Otaku), [4] Cosplay Ota, [5] Figure Ota, [6] Maid Ota, [7] Idol Ota, [8] Game Ota, [9] Gunji Ota (Military Otaku), [10] Eroge Ota (Erotic Games Otaku), [11] Tetsudou Ota (Train Otaku), [12] Rekiji Ota (History Otaku), [13] Pasocon Ota (Computer Otaku). |
